Anyone have any personal favorites with Wrath?

I like the 2nd boss In CoS, I dunno why It just seems like he's right.

All I know is that Putress' voice sent shivers down my spine.

"I am Mal'ganis! I am eternal!"

Whatever else might be said of his return from death, Mal'ganis' emotes after he changes form, which include both text and audio, are pretty cool-sounding. That particular line stands out in my mind especially, in part due to the other things he says being quieter and often distorted by the crashing and chopping sounds of the players attacking him. That six-word statement, however, rings loud and clear during the fight and sounded pretty cool at the time when I heard it in-game.

It does cause me to wonder why Blizz is so oddly random in what they've chosen to record voices for. There's nary a single voiceover during the entire Battle for Undercity, yet the encounter with Mal'ganis has a voiceover for the Dreadlord in both his human and demonic forms.

In the same way, they're kinda erratic in just when they choose to give Arthas a voice to go along with his text during in-game appearances. He has a voiceover to accompany his text emote when he appears after players interrupt the Vrykul Queen Angerboda's attempts to revive her husband-king, Ymiron. Yet during the confrontation with Tirion involving Arthas' heart, which is arguably a far more important questline lorewise, it's all text and no voiceovers whatsoever. Similarly characters like Thassarian and Darion Mograine often get voiceovers when they show up during quest events to assist players, yet a certain entire Storm Peaks chain passes without Loken, Thorim or any of the others speaking aloud during the scripted content, instead only speaking via large blocks of emoted text (which admittedly, can make it irritating to keep up with if one doesn't make sure to read along quickly enough).

I'm also inclined to agree with Timolas on Putress' voice. I don't rightly recall if he had a unique voice in-game (as in, at Shattrath during the Ghoul Plague. They might have just slapped on one of the standard Forsaken male sound sets for him there, but I don't remember for sure). A certain amount of eloquence adds something to a villain's representation, and lets face it, WC's villains don't generally have that. Or the heroes, for that matter. Most of them are pretty blunt in their manner of speech.

Personally, the new Lich king's voice sucks. Bring back Arthas' old voice actor!

What I hate is when they do voiceovers for Warcraft 3 scenes which already HAVE voiceovers from the original game. They rerecord them and I usually prefer the old ones.

The biggest example of this was Archimonde.

Sweet lord. SWEET LORD. No. JUST NO.
He sounded like a massive retarded robot trying to stuff the World Tree up his ass. Had they simply transferred his insidious and cunning voice from Warcraft 3 directly it would have been more impressive.
Rather than "MANA KREESH! GONNA KILL YOU ALLLLL!" *sparks*

Wrath voices are terrible and Blizzard is fecking greedy...

They can afford good voice actors.
There are some good though.

Good

1. Putress
2. Tirion
3. The Lich King

Bad

1. All Red Dragons including Alexstrasza
2. Arthas
3. Mal'ganis

I don't get the hate for the Lich King's new voice. I find it far more chilling and commanding than Arthas' whining.

Plus the Lich King said 4 words in Wc3, so people cant say they changed his voice either.

I really like his voice. It real sounds that they are two, but still one

It´s not that it´s bad, it´s just that they´re trying to hard to emphasize Arthas´ dickish personality, like him making the decision of purging Stratholme made more sense because of his new, more deep voice. There was no reason to change it.

His old one was better.

He said "Now we are one" in Wc3 - and it sounds very similar.

Can't agree there. I get more sense of him being a truly terrifying and powerful being with this new voice than the old one.

The new voice isn't so much bad. It does, however, seem out of place at times. In the Wrathgate video it worked well given the nature of his dialogue; the things he says are the sort of things one could imagine coming from the same Lich King who thundered "Return to me in Icecrown! Obey!" in Arthas head during TFT. However, numerous times in WotLK he uses casual "Arthas-speak", and it just doesn't mesh with his newer voice.

It almost makes me feel like maybe that's why they left out some of the voiceover for certain quests; telling Tirion that he's "calling his bluff" wouldn't really sound right when said by a voice that sounds like it's best used for shouting the word "Doooooom!" from atop his citadel all day long. A fair amount of his dialogue in-game is very conversational and "Arthas-ish", and ends up sounding oddly stilted and hokey when said in his current Lich King voice.

Sometimes it feels to me like the Family Guy "Sauron losing his contact lens" joke when the Lich King's talking in-game; the evil overlord saying things that evil overlords just plain don't say, and using phrases that just don't really fit their portrayal.

That, my friend, is what you get when you merge an evil overlord and an angsty teenager.

I was talking more about his "normal version" appearance in the Caverns of Time instance than the actual Lich King voice (Which is still worse than the in The Frozen Throne).

TFT Lich King spoke with an eerie tone of omnipotence, WoW Lich King speaks like he´s EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEVOOOOOOOOOOOL.

Not in my opinion.

I think the Lich King is and sounds awesome. His voice is so calm, cool but still deadly and strong.

I was a bit thrown off by the Lich King's new voice, but I have to admit it has grown on me a lot. Now I like hearing it whenever I have the chance.

I was always partial to the old god voices that whispered to you during the Cthun fights. Reminds me of the voice that whispers to you in the caves with the mad Dwarves in the Fjord.

the frozen throne ending, the voice from 1.55 to 2.05

that's how the lich king should have sounded, not this sauron ripoff
I just can't imagine the current lich king voice saying the things like for example in road to damnation :

"You will never catch me unaware, for I do not sleep, and as you should have already guessed, I can read your thoughts as easily as you might read a book. Nor can you hope to defeat me. Your puny mind is incapable of handling the energies I manipulate on a whim."

the current lich king sounds more like a chainsmoker than an evil mastermind.

I just did Naxxramas and they changed Kel's voice.

The new one is HORRIBLE.
It's generic evil raspy bad guy. Again.
The old one at least retained some of his etiquette and style. But this? No similarity.

That sucks, the voice actor did Kel´thuzad´s voice and narrated the original Naxxramas trailer, why would he leave now?
