Default Minor Quality of Life Issues

What are some little changes you'd like made to the game, whether it's quest refinement, little material changes to towns and cities, or NPCs added or removed or whatever?

For me, when I played I was always really sad that goblin town in Twilight Highlands was constantly under attack, it just seemed like an awesome place to hang out and RP but it's ALWAYS full of wildhammer even after you complete the quests to drive them off.

I wish Blizz had made the wildhammer attack a phased daily quest thing.

Now you know how Alliance players felt throughout all of Cataclysm.

I wish there was an easier way to cast slowfall on party/raid members. Just give us a mass slowfall ability or something. Instead I have to try and click on each member as they pass and pray I got someone before they fall victim to the elevator boss, for example.

Considering the sub drop, I'm guessing Blizz wishes they never did either.

They had to make Cataclysm and update Azeroth, half of the old world was a mess to play through.

Cataclysm was the best thing that could happen to the old world.

Exactly. There was soooooo much content that went into Cataclysm that gets taken for granted now.

For the Horde. The Alliance was better off with Classic.

Widows or widowers crying at the graveyard for their loved ones lost in the Alliance-Horde war.

Needed more Worgen and less dropped storylines.

My leveling zones weren't all joke storylines and weren't butched.

Meh, for all the smoothing out of leveling, they basically turned what was a fantasy world to explore into a game on rails that ignores most of the world in the race to get to the next zone. Consequently, their efforts to make the world feel populated with cross-realm servers falls short, because instead of feeling like encountering another person in your journeys exploring Azeroth, it feels more like glancing over at another player putting on the tenth hole as you're chipping out of a sand trap on the sixth.

So much wasted real estate in post-cataclysm Azeroth (especially where they put massive geological upheavals that none of the local NPC's even talk about. Why even bother?) Not to mention the pruning of entire questlines in zones that didn't get revamped (like the draenei and blood elf starter zones) to sync them up with the leveling rate of those that did.

Never mind that the pruning of quests has since continued into later zones, presumably to reduce the rate of people outleveling the zones even without heirlooms. Every other time I level an alt, I repeatedly finish a quest chain or hub and think "wait...there was at least one more quest in there the last time I came through on an alt..." Leveling isn't so much smoothed out as turning into a sprint for lvl 60, partly because people demand excuses not to play the game.

Story-wise they also basically subjected the old world to the exact same thing that damns the expansions. Vanilla Azeroth was vague and generalized enough in its status that even after the player passed through, returning later just felt like "the world doing its thing" regardless of the player's activities thereafter. Post-Catalysm Azeroth is expressly locked as a whole to a specific point in time right after the Shattering, and steeped in events that are entirely done with and haven't really mattered for almost two whole expansions now (and really stop mattering after the player moves onto the next zone anyway.)

I used to finish a zone and still hope to go back and find out more about it later someday - returning to a familiar place later with a new purpose made the world feel more alive. Yet Cataclysm's revamped quests drive home the idea that such a hope is wasted, because the game's done with a zone as soon as its leveling quests turn grey, and therefore so should I be. New EK and Kalimdor are about Garrosh's war and the Shattering and the Twilight's Hammer, which means we don't be going back to them without some form of instancing, because they're all solidly and irrevocably stuck in the middle of a very specific and now-obsolete series of events.

In a way the phasing used for it all made things worse, as they seemed to opt for skipping simple no-brainer uses like phasing out an obnoxiously screaming elemental in Ashenvale once he's dead, while insisting upon multiple overlapping phases of Sentinel Hill that end with the place still burning and under Defias attack, years after people originally finished the quest chain.
