How many of you have weekdays set for certain types of food? I find that an odd ritual.

I tend to make sure I eat something different every day, so if I've had chicken one day I'll try to have something like beef or pork the next.

My mum always cooks a sunday roast of roast potatos, veg, yorkshire pudding and meat (pork, lamb or chicken) on ritual, so you always know what your getting when round her place on sunday.

I'd rather like to a ritual BBQ every sunday if I could afford it

I only have Wednesday set, and only then because my mother happens to be coming to this side of the Island for my sisters martial arts classes. We ask her to bring the Shawarma from town, since it's the only place to get it.

Hence, the set day.

See, I would have gone with a "your mom..." joke there, but this is why you are a lonely virgin...

My mom made a big pitcher of gazpacho yesterday. There are perks to being descended from swarthy Spaniards.

I had tacos today. Hot, spicy, greasy tacos. They were tasty, indeed.

To be calorically-restricted is to be healthy. Fasting days are important to one's health.

I think not eating for an entire day is unhealthy and shouldn't be done unless for religious reasons.

Hopefully some chicken fingers and fries, with an orange dream milkshake in the next hour or two.

I strengthen my spirit and my body with occasional fasting, perhaps one day a week. It also makes well-cooked dishes taste more delicious, when one is done. You'd be surprised, dear lady, how strong the human body is. One does not even notice hunger, if one is used to such fasting. And one feels more energised, and better for it.

not if your diabetic its not, as in your end up dead if you try.

Today I prepared this recipe: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2...-beef-tomatoes

Beef tomatos (so really big ones) scooped out and stuffed the insides with the tomato contents, couscous, olives and olive oil. You can mix it up and add other stuff like mozzarella cheese or pine nuts, but I left them out. Really enjoy them.

Spaghetti with my homemade spinach sauce (creme spinach, garlic, cream, salt, pepper, nutmeg, sauted chopped onions) and plenty of parmesan.

There is zero hard evidence that fasting helps cleanse the body. Fasting provides zero health benefits unless it's to preempt a surgery. It lowers your metabolic rate, makes the next meal that much more fattening, disrupts kidney and liver functions, and a whole other slew of things.

A person on a healthy diet may not have a huge reaction to it for a day or two.... as long as he isn't on any sort of medication, up to an including Tylenol.

In short, sort of surgery, where fasting is required so the body doesn't waste any energy digesting foods when it needs to be regulating breathing and other vital functions in a drugged state, fasting is a stupid thing to do that not only puts unneeded strain on ones body, but also comes with the side dose of having the uninformed think they are doing something good for themselves. Sort of like colon cleanses, which cause a hell of a lot of harm as well by removing the good bacteria.

As far as spiritual....I'll leave that bit out, because while it may be a load of shit, it's your load of shit..

As for food today? I don't know yet.

Maybe Arbys. Or subway. Or taco bell. Or a salad. Just don't know yet.

We still have the usual Sunday lunch here (roast potatoes, beef, gravy, veg etc.) Tradition I guess. Plus it means the family's all together in one place for a meal which is cool.
