As the mightiest heroes of Azeroth charged through the Dark Portal, leaving themselves stranded and taking the fight to the Iron Horde's homeworld of Draenor, their own lands in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor were left without their protection. And in their absence a new dark power has taken the opportunity to expand. Far out on Azeroth's ocean, within the center of the churning Maelstrom, a faint green light has begun to shine. A magical gateway has been opened to a parallel universe-Azeroth, and from it emerges the imperial armies of the YrelŠend leprechauns.

Will you stand and fight? Buy World of Warcraft; The Wrath of RPG Appendix 3 today.

If Blizzard continues making expansions about two races, like WOD with orcs and eredar, which combos and what expansions could you see them releasing, besides the obvious night elf & troll South Seas combo?

I want the mongrel races of azeroth concept back. that had merit.

I want them to recycle the rebuild Outland idea. Wrathion finds something in AlterDraenor and then goes back to Outland to rebuild it as a staging ground against a Legion invasion.

A Void Expansion on the Ogre Continent on Draenor.

Cho'gall is going to Goria and takes control of the Ogre Empire with the powers he collected in Nagrand.

New Race(s): Arrakoa. After the defeat of Rukhmar the Order of the Awakened broke apart with the High Arrakoa and the Cursed ones retreating to their homes.
The Cursed Arrakoa take up home in Talon Watch close to the Blood of Sethe and meet up with Worgen who were studying how the Blood can corrupt so fast and try to maybe learn something about their own curse. While there they see that the Sethekk try to reanimate Sethe, with the help of the Worgen they manage to defeat the Sethekk but it is too late. Because the ritual was interrupted, Sethe is alive and to everyones confusion he acknowledges the Cursed Arrakoa as "beings of his own blood" and defends them from attacking Void creatures coming from the south. Sethe becomes the leader of the Cursed Arrakoa and the Arrakoa join the Alliance with the help of the Worgen

The High Arrakoa, taking up refuge in the reclaimed Skyreach find that Sunwalkers and Blood Elves have set up camp here to research how to harness the power of the Sun. The High Arrakoa want to help them, not only because of selflessness, but also because they fear for their saftey if they do not find a way to defend themselves quickly. They find out, how the machinations work, but soon hit a roadblock as they find out, that the power of Rukhmar is needed to unleash the power of Skyreach. They quickly set out to collect the Ashes and resurrect Rukhmar, who helps "her children" defend themselves from the Void creatures coming from the South. Rukhmar is now the leader of the High Arrakoa, who join the Horde with the help of the Blood Elves and the Tauren.

Sorry, just spitballing here. I just thought it could set up interesting new relationships and arcs within the factions.

Since everyone's talking naga expansion, I'll take a crack at it.

First off, no new race and no new class - I am content to let us sit at 11 classes and 13 races for the moment. Updated naga, murloc (both normal and deep sea variations), makrura, kraken, and Gallywix models are a must.

Pre-Expansion Event: Terror of the Tides

Tremors and high tides herald the return of the naga. Though the Tidehunter has returned to his

The naga invasion begins while the main forces of Azeroth are focused on Draenor. They swarm at key locations, attacking the Alliance at Lor'danel and Stormwind Harbor while attacking the Horde at Bladefist Bay and Bilgewater Harbor.

The questline begins at your faction's capital; Varian/Vol'jin send you to report to the front-lines. There, you report to Colonel Lorena a squadron of Tirasian marines who escaped Theramore's destruction. They send the player to kill naga and disrupt their defences along the harbour/coast. The player witnesses the rise of a kraken off the coast. Next, your character is given a gnomish flying machine/goblin flying shredder and sent to bombard the rising leviathans and repel the invasion.

The players' next set of quests involve Lor'danel/Bilgewater Harbor and they are given transportation to their respective hubs. While faceless ones and forgotten ones attack the weakened Lor'danel, the naga have unleashed a swarm of gilgoblins on Bilgewater Harbor.

Tyrande Whisperwind and Shandris Feathermoon are present to fight the invaders. The night elves take out their commanders and siege weapons; Tyrande stops to heal and empower her Sentinels with the strength of Elune. Shandris moves forward to the Master's Glaive, taking out as many faceless ones and merciless ones as possible, then strikes down a forgotten one. Tyrande dispatches Shandris to strike at the naga's forward command at Nazj'vel. After dealing with the naga leader, the player returns to Tyrande who sends the player to send word to Varian. Varian hands out the quest chain rewards.

Bilgewater Harbor is ablaze and the gilgoblins are riding on the backs of the hapless citizens while the naga flood the streets and kill any goblin unlucky enough to meet them. Trade Prince Gallywix is aboard his uberzeppelin above the harbour and understandably upset with this state of affairs - his property is being destroyed.

Sending the Gob Squad and the player into the fray, they save the citizens from their mutant brethren and take out naga attackers. Once they get to the cannon room, they take out the naga leader but are unable to stop the cannon's countdown. Escaping on the remaining airplanes, the player watches at the cannon... detonate. Shoddy craftsmanship and a focus on size over sense made the cannon dangerous only to its wielders. The resulting explosion engulfs Bilgewater Harbor and the gilgoblins, naga and remaining citizens burn along with it.

Rather than fly into a fit of rage, Gallywix exhibits a tranquil fury at the loss of his city. Privately making plans for where the Bilgewater Cartel will go next, he sends the player back to Vol'jin to report the losses.

Pre-Expansion Instance:

I'm not convinced there has to be one, but I'd choose a scenario involving Vashj'ir and Neptulon the Tidehunter would be the last instance boss. He's not a raid boss like Ragnaros because he has lost much of his power while in Azshara's thrall, his pure waters made corrupt. After the instance ends, the Tidehunter returns to his senses and the instance cleanses of its taint. His trident stolen, Azshara now boasts control over the seas.

The Rise of Ny'alotha

The lost lands of Kalimdor rise from the depths around the Maelstrom, connecting formerly disparate islands together as one continent named Ny'alotha. The naga prepare for N'Zoth's return and carry out their war of conquest against the surface world. Meanwhile, the Emerald Nightmare leaks into the waking world from what was the Eye, now fused with the Rift of Aln.

Already-established characters important to this expansion include Tyrande Whisperwind, Shandris Feathermoon, Vol'jin, Jaina Proudmoore, Colonel Lorena, Genn Greymane, Celestine of the Harvest, Jastor Gallywix, Ratso Steamwheedle, Malfurion Stormrage, Hamuul Ronetotem, Azshara, N'Zoth, Maiev Shadowsong, Zul and Rastakhan.

Ideally, new characters would include the current Grand Admiral of Kul Tiras, the other goblin Trade Princes, the ruler(s) of Mak'aru, several naga, faceless generals, and the ancient aqir.

Kul Tiras (Alliance) [100-102]

The lost island nation of Kul Tiras is the Alliance's starting zone for the expansion. The Alliance hub for the expansion is Boralus, capital of Kul Tiras. Jaina Proudmoore, as daughter of the former Grand Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, has called upon her homeland to give the Alliance a foothold in their efforts to defeat the Old God of N'Zoth before he awakens. However, Kul Tiras does not trust Jaina after she contributed to her father's death and resents the Alliance for abandoning it after the cataclysm. Kul Tiras now faces many threats including naga invaders to the west, Bloodsail Buccaneers from Plunder Isle to the south, and a Zandalari outpost on Zul'Dare to the north.

Kezan (Horde) [100-102]

The ruined goblin homeland of Kezan was destroyed in the Cataclysm. After some creative (and often underhanded) dealings with the other cartels, Jastor Gallywix has convinced his fellow Trade Princes (and Princess) to allow the Horde a base in the most salvaged area of the great Undermine. In exchange, Horde adventurers must aid the goblins in reclaiming and rebuilding their homeland. The cartels of Kezan must contend with crazed elementals, vengeful troll slaves, and unearthed abberations that reveal the secret origins of goblinkind.

The Drowned Reaches [102-104]

The Drowned Reaches are a ship's graveyard from the darkest depths of the ocean exposed to the rays of the sun once more. Swarms of lost souls inhabit the derelict vessels strewn across the ravaged shores. Half the area has been fused with the Nightmare, creating a misty swamp choked with seaweed. Worse, the area has become host to kvaldir raiders as well as sea giants and mistlurkers driven mad by the whispers of the Old God.

Gishan Caverns [104-106]

A gigantic system of interconnected underwater caverns, Gishan is an obstacle that all must traverse to proceed further into the nightmare lands. The Gishan Caverns are home to the legendary leviathans, such as the great Ozumat, and hoardes of deadly kraken, like the fearsome Kolorath. The caverns are built atop a huge volcanic hotspot, causing frequent earthquakes and steam spouts in the drained tunnels. Despite the dangers within, the Gishan Caverns are actually quite beautiful; the caverns seem to pulse with a vibrant array of colours.

Scintal Reef [106-108]

The makrura call the Scintal Reef home and their capital of Mak'aru was located here. Unfortunately for them, the naga have decided to take them as slaves to serve in their conquest of the surface. For the past few years, the makrura have been forced to fight and die in greater numbers against the naga's enemies as fodder. Some have embraced this fate, but a large group seeks to resist and throw off the shackles of oppression. Perhaps you can help them with that, hm?

The Black Forest [108-110]

In the centre of the continent is the Black Forest, a Nightmare-fused forest risen around what was once the great Maelstrom. Now this area is host to only madness; insane wildlife, feral worgen, silithid, naga, and even ancient aqir are a few of the myriad threats surrounding the capital of N'zoth's greatest servitor: Queen Azshara.

Nazjatar lies at the centre of the continent. The naga have spent some time transforming the surrounding lands into a land similar to the Kalimdor of old, before the Sundering broke it apart. Like it's dark mistress it is a disgusting mockery of the night elves' ancient civilization.

Tel'Abim (PvP) [110]

The island of Tel'Abim has long been valued for its bananas but, as it turns out, it is also home to a large number of extremely powerful relics from the ancient Zandalari who fought against the Old Gods. As these relics are of interest to the Explorers' League and can give the Alliance a possible way to deter future aggression from the Horde, they establish a foothold on Tel'Abim to claim them. However, the Reliquary wants to use this ancient magic as an edge in their war against the naga.

Zandalar (Patch 7.2) [110]

Before the cataclysm, the prophet Zul of the Zanchuli Council came to King Rastakhan with a vision of the coming destruction. Though he did not believe it, Rastakhan sought to placate Zul by letting him seek a new land should such things come to pass. Zul used this opportunity to reach out to the other troll nations and, when his visions did come to pass, the prophet became his people's only hope for salvation. After defeating the Zandalari across Azeroth and breaking their failed alliance with the mogu of Pandaria, Warchief Vol'jin and Lady Vereesa Windrunner prepare to make their final strike against Zul in his homeland of Zandalar.

Suramar (Patch 7.4) [110]

As the final face-off against N'Zoth draws near, adventurers of the Alliance and Horde come upon the city of Suramar, formerly known as the Broken Isles. The legend of this island began with the night elves 10,000 years ago. Millennia later, the Guardian of Tirisfal Aegwynn used one of the islands as a tomb for the corpse of the dark titan Sargeras. Centuries after that, the orc warlock Gul'dan attempted to find the treasure promised to him by Sargeras and found only death. That treasure later came into the possession of Illidan, who used the Eye of Sargeras to attack the Lich King. Suramar has played many, key roles in Azeroth's history... but what secrets yet lay hidden within its ruined, demon-infested halls?

The Rift of Aln (Patch 7.4) [110]

A great chasm from which even light cannot escape and the origin point for the Emerald Nightmare as it fuses into reality. The dreaming god awakens, regardless of the deaths of Xavius, Neltharion, and Azshara, and he intends to plunge the world of Azeroth into an eternal nightmare and return it to the days before the Titans came - to create a world where chaos reigns.

The entire zone is built around a gradual vertical descent, requiring a cavern-like map system with several areas rather than a conventional zone map. At the bottom is the eponymous Rift, which leads into N'Zoth's domain. The Rift of Aln is covered in three 5-man dungeons and a raid instance in which players face off against the God of Nightmare.

I totally forgot cho'gall died in mythic, which is a shame. Let's declare the mythic only phase non-canon or let's do a Anub'arak.

I'll add mine too then:

The Eye of Azshara:

Azshara, wielding the Trident of Neptulon, rises several pieces of the ocean floor to the surface, sending huge tsunamis towards the surrounding coastlines. As the enormous tsunamis are descending upon Orgrimmar and Stormwind does Neptulon and his elemental forces intervene. most of his forces are sacrificed in subdueing the waves and his powers vastly diminshed, though it is a sacrifice most important as the heroes and armies of the Alliance and Horde is most needed in defeating Azshara. With this the Trident is powerless for a time, allowing for a window of opportunity to strike her down before she can drown everything.
Feature two new playable races: The high elves for Alliance and the Landwalker Naga for Horde.
The races that receives the most focus in this expansion are Night elves and High elves, Landwalker Naga and Trolls. Worgen and Gnomes, Goblins and Blood elves has a smaller focus.

The Night elves and the Trolls are the major players in this expansion, supported by the High elves and the Landwalker Naga.

The Landwalker Naga are a rebellious group of Naga that has managed to reclaim some of their heritage, having regressed a bit back to their night elven roots, becoming the naga equivilant of the Worgen. Looking like a hybrid of naga and night elf, capable of regaining full naga form for a limited time.
Their starting zone lies in a group of islands north of Lordaeron. They've become close allies of the Blood elves.

The High elves has regrouped and gathered, bolstered by the return of Alleria Windrunner and her elite Rangers. though still few in numbers compared to their fel corrupted siblings, they make it up with expertise and will. They've allied themselves with the Night elves, seeking to mend ties with their cousins and return to the homeland of their highbourne ancestors. The abandoned coastal lands north of Hyjal has become their new home, a wild, cold and rough land inhabited by highbourne spirits of old and vile Satyrs.

Kezan and Kul tiras are the entrance zones for the Horde and the Alliance.
The goblins and the Horde seeks to reclaim the mostly abandoned Goblin homeland, though they are not the only ones as the goblin cartels plot in the shadows and the Naga forces threaten it's shores

Much devastation befell kul Tiras during the Cataclysm. Pulled out further at sea, their island nation broken and in ruins. to make it worse, the Worgen curse has claimed much of the population, all that remains as humans are
the brave defenders that hold Boralus, protecting the surviving population from rabid Worgen and Naga invasion. As the nation of Stormwind is spread thin on two worlds does the Worgen lead the charge to save Kul Tiras alongside the Silver Covenant lead by Vereesa and Jaina.

The main horde and Alliance forces are lead by the Trolls and the Night elves, with Vol'jin and Shandris taking the lead on the field.
Introducing the new version of the Garrison, an atoll for each faction that's being turned into a naval base.
For the Horde the architecture is mostly trollish with blood elf and naga additions.
For the Alliance the architecture is mostly Night elf with high elf additions.

The foes that are fought are the Naga with their Makrura and Mur'gul slaves. The Zandalari and their Golden fleet, the Kvaldir and the various cutthroat types that makes a living in the South Seas.
In the shadows lurks N'zoth, plotting.

Arakkoa forming a friendship with Worgen seems cool since they both share a dark edge and a creepy architectural style, but I think it's safer to say that Draenei would be the likeliest race to bring them in out of any other race.

That or both could do it.

There's a part of me that feels like satyrs, even with a newer hotter model, don't compete with arrakoa for cool points. It gets into the Pandaren problem of a race that's got broad enough appeal that you'd lose either way if you only gave it to one faction, so the only feasible solution is to give it to both.

Ogres would probably have a stronger hook. Them and Arakkoa got the biggest chunk of NPC race development in WoD and they both have solidly distinct architectural styles they can bring to the table now.

I wouldn't mind if they brought something unique to the factions in their own way. Arakkoa could bring a sort of "non-evil" shadow worship to the Alliance that's different from the Forsaken's connection with the Forgotten Shadow. Ogres it's a little harder to think of what they could bring, but I think they could bring a form of Magi that aren't Blood Elven in style and overtones.

Although to be fair I don't know where Ogres would fit in an Emerald Dream expansion. It would be a lot like how Worgen didn't fit the narrative of Cataclysm, and I think that's an issue that should be avoided.
