I wonder what the terroir of the lab is?

I may call myself a science man but over my dead body that I'd ever eat any lab grown meat.

I don't care about the health benefits (Im pro animal eating.)

There just seems to feel something right about being able to say I got this burger from a real animal, not grown artificially in a lab somewhere with no sunlight in small containers.

Be human, consume real animals.

and now a word from francis baconmeyer jr

I don't eat processed food if I can avoid it, I get fresh stuff from places I can visit. Locally grown etc.

Sweden is still somewhat civilised when it comes to animal handling, though there is great pressure to allow brutal and sinister ways of handling and killing the animals in the name of religion.

Edit: And profit, can't forget the lure of extra profit which makes some people treat their animals like that. That's why we have law and order, to crack down on such vile behaviour.
A wise man once said that a society should be judged by how it treats it's less fortunate. I'd say it should be judged on how it treats it's animals.

It amuses me that they left out the core things that give meat flavour, IE blood and fat, they need to produce those as well as the muscle protein in order to make something taste like it should.

Artificial flavouring. What else would you expect out of artificial meat? Reminds me of that japanese scientist who made meat out of the bacteria which thrived on human feces.

Right, because making in-vitro blood or fat would be so very difficult once in-vitro (Which is not artificial by the way, donor cells still come from animals) muscle tissue becomes a viable alternative to meat from animals.

Also, that would most likely be "a species of bacteria that can thrive on human feces", which is on no way a bad thing, seeing that there are many molds used for food production since hundreds of years, which happen to also thrive on rotten meat.

Of course you need a few stem cells in the beginning, but once you have your meat growing you can start to grow it out, devide colonies etc. Unless it dies off due to problems you probably won't have to replace it too often and using stem cells isn't exactly like mass killing cows. Think of it, entire halls filled with meat grown from one stem cell.

I can't WAIT for the T-Virus to crop up.

What does a stem cell burger it taste like

Well it is in the initial stages and they did admit they used a lot of cheating to make it appetising at this stage.

Still the ecological results accordying to this graph are undeniable

What if the fate of the world depend on it? Because it might as well depend on it.

Well, the world is in no danger. Earth have survived worse plagues than humanity.

I would eat the hell out of vat-grown meat. I would stuff my face with it, and celebrate Man's triumph over nature.

Yeah, I'll be happy to eat vat-grown meat once it's affordable and of reasonable quality. I already use vat-grown insulin.

Well, humanity isn't really in danger of ending either. More in danger of a mass death, at best.

OK THEN THAT!

If you could stop or reduce mass death of humans by eating lab-grown meat instead of live-grown meat would you?

No.. Actually, if I could hasten things up I'd eat even more live grown meat.

I would martyr the shit out of my self if it means my sisters could grow up in a world with less people in it. People suck.
