Default If they were rebooting Warcraft, what would you suggest to do?

Whether it's for another system or genre, pretend Blizzard really was rebooting WC in the future. Now what do you, suggest?

1. Who would you recommend for it (writers, character designers, the rest)?

2. Where would you first do a major branch off from current Lore?

3. What do you say to keep from the current setting?

So they kind of did this with the Warcraft movie. A lot of comments would be criticisms of or agreements with how the movie did it.

Or is this, like, a reboot starting earlier? Maybe starting with War of the Ancients, and following events on Kalimdor alone, until one day the orcs and humans make landfall from a destroyed land to the east?

1. George RR. Martin, D.M. Cornish, Robert Asprin if he's still alive.

2. More variety in the upper echelons of the cosmology. Not just Titans and Light being the most important. A lot of times blizz talks about cosmic balance and how shadow fits into it but aside from the shadowpriest class order it's still treated as pretty intrinsically evil.

3. Most things I'd keep. I'd make mostly tweaks and alterations rather than whole new changes.

Shadow Orb

Yeah overall it's really a few things that makes the current thing suck, not the whole thing. Like Thrall one-shotting Deathwing, Sylvanas not seeing consequences to her actions, most Alliance leaders being useless and of course the fact that the resort in southern Feralas is unused.

The Sylvanas thing isn't even a problem in terms of the consequences, but that she retained power and successfully keeps the Forsaken functional despite them. A little political division would be nice once in awhile.

The most political division we got were two grunts wondering if she killed Vol'jin but that got removed.

Also the whole "Sylvanas needs val'kyr!" thing is weird too considering regular old necromancy was shown in Vanilla to work just fine for getting more Forsaken.

This, I always hated the valkyr for crowding out what should have been a deluge of necromantic methods

The Horde would not have had the redemption arcs or even had demon blood corruption. Just angry orcs, ogres and trolls.

1. Jorge Luis Borges, even though he's dead. Played right, Azeroth could have been Tlön.

2. I was mostly happy with it up until Cataclysm.

3. Everything before Cataclysm, and Pandaria. Pandaria's cool.

The solution is simple. We must become Borges.

Easier said than done... but I like the way you think.
