I kind of want to go visit that au universe. It sounds like a lot of things are completely different, at least at the point Thrall enters it. Arthas is alive and not evil, he and Jaina are married and have a son, the Scourge either don't exist or never spread outside Northrend, Lordaeron and Quel'Thalas, among other kingdoms, remain intact and uncorrupted, Zul'jin and a bunch of other guys are probably still alive, hell Draenor may even remain intact, since we never heard about what happened to the Dark Portal and the land on the other side.

Perhaps Alliance could get high elves as a playable race this way.

We have to save the Trolls and Tauren from being the Alliance (which still formed) and they're being mean to them.

That's cool. I'm sometimes annoyed by the way designers of fantasy settings are so eager to wipe the slate clean through world-ending disasters. There's definitely a place for that kind of thing, but reliance on it is just laziness (though in some cases, the franchise becomes so complex that they don't really have a choice).

Plus, it gives me more wiggle room with the Draenor history I developed for the travelogue. I'll take what I can get.

Agreed. Cataclysm was kind of when WoW jumped the shark for me, but everything after that's actually been decent. Admittedly, my expectations were lowered considerably. I thought MoP was a pretty solid expansion—the pandarens came across as hobbit-silly rather than Jar Jar Binks-silly. WoD has an insane, contrived, and convoluted story but the setting itself is actually pretty cool.

I do admit, Shadowmoon is pretty.

Finally getting around to leveling and playing.

Hate the garrison still.

But ehh.

I want to come back, I really do, I'm sure the gameplay is lovely and all, but the plot still makes me cringe, its not worth a sub to me, despite the lovely (at times ) worldbuilding

I want to see more Tanaan wildlife models. Still holding out for those centipedes, but my hope is starting to die out.

Blizzard effectively wants to have its cake and eat it too by pretending to have this groundbreaking war in a faction capital while at the same time being completely unwilling to portray logical consequences of such an event.

Faction war can be done well, but Blizzard has half assed it and it has predictably flopped as a result.

I really hope difficulty picks up.

I can kill most things and stay above 80% health in stag form with auto attack. Bear form is two or three shots. I'm fairly sure I could one shot something if I CD'ed.

I recommend creating your own warcraft plot. Find a way to make the story work for you. I've tried my hand at it before, and it's actually fairly therapeutic sometimes.

That doesn't make sense.

They don't think having a PvE and PvP version of every skill is the correct solution.

Even though they're already doing this and it works.

It's what many games do and it works. It's not like WoW has many skills at this point anymore for it to be 'confusing' that things work different in PvP.
