Still, it leaves them friendlier with the Alliance races than the Horde's.

The blood elves are fools! I'm glad that our trade relations with them have fallen apart. In all of my travels throughout the cosmos, I have never encountered beings so selfish. They continue to destroy the land around us with their manaforges, so let's see if we can put a dent in their operations across the bridge at Manaforge Ara. Their nethermancers channel energy to and from the blood gems to stabilize the flow of power. Go over there and wipe them out!

My thoughts:

Alliance:
I only see two races for the Alliance. High elves and Furbolgs.

Horde:
Ogres, Naga, Arrakoa and Satyrs.

Neutral:
Drakonids and Ethereals.

The biggest problem I see with new races is that the majority will have shamans thus making the once rare class widspread into both factions while paladins will remain a minority like druids. If that is okay, then I would add:

Taunka as a subrace for Tauren starting around level 70
High Elves as a "subrace" for Humans with a mix of human and elven racial traits starting likewise at level 70

Ogres for Horde, Furbolg for Alliance, Arakkoa for both.

I'd rather Ethereals be Alliance. The Alliance doesn't really have a true "Proud Merchant Race" if I'm not mistaken.

For Alliance: Nerubians, Ethereals, Arakkoa

For Horde: Mantid, Ogres

For Neutral: Naga, possibly Ethereal (if not Alliance)

Would do anything for Mantid, Arakkoa and Ethereals.

Ogres seem like a no-brainer. Nerubians could be a great Alliance counterpart for an expansion where the Horde gets the Mantid (if that ever happens. I doubt it -- but if it does, then yeah.)

Because the Nerubians have that more sophisticated architecture, behavior (to a certain degree) down. They also seem very.. royal, when it comes to it. Their garbs, their buildings.

Whereas the Mantid are savage(yes I did it), they respect strength more than most things, and their architecture fits more with the 'wild' feeling of the Horde.

The Nerubians already have a rusty relationship with Yogg-Saron going on. The war with the Faceless and all that. The Mantid on the other hand might be persuaded to join the Horde after the Horde demonstrates their strength. At least, a small group. The Mantid society is in shambles, this is the time for rebuilding, and maybe that rebuilding can include a change of mentality -- possibly due to Horde influence.

Yes, these are mere 'what ifs', but I think Horde Mantid with Alliance Nerubian counterparts would work very well in an expansion where those two races are relevant. I will probably continue to believe that for a long time.

Faction war can be done well, but Blizzard has half assed it and it has predictably flopped as a result.

Interestingly enough, I see it that way too.

I mean yeah, the Mantid have the whole "Proud Warrior Race" thing going on, but they still feel pretty cultural and have a monarchy-based system. They also fight more like calculating warriors rather than raging berserkers too.

The same reason why they accepted forsaken. The Earthen ring seeks to redeem them. They'd also be a huge middle finger to the night elves. With them the Horde has "ancestral" claims to Ashenvale.

I'd rather have neutral satyr, but unlike the pandaren, they'd look different depending on the faction. Horde satyr would look like they normally do while Alliance satyr would look more like biped Keepers/dryads.

Sure, most will probably say that another night elf race would suck, but when it fits it fits.

Ehhhhh... Satyr actively worship demons, they don't really -want- to be redeemd outside of one guy and the Night Elves accepted his help.

Satyr don't really have their own story either, they mostly exist to be enemies for the nelfs.

I'm just not big on another race that the Horde bring in with the goal of them... eventually not being that race anymore.

That's probably why they'd work better as an NPC race, but still that would likely be more inclined for Alliance if they are written as wanting to be cured/redeemed.

Hopefully someday we will have Gilneas rejoin the Alliance. Haven't heard from them in since WC2/3. Get some of that Gilnean pride back because everything is better in Gilneas.

It would be a hard choice between the drakonid and the etheral and the naga.

Each one brings something different to each faction and I really can't just pick one...

So I pick them all.

But, claims on Ashenvale! It belongs to the Satyrs too.

I don't really get how having a 'claim' matters when Satyr are not considered as having a claim by the nelfs anyway due to the fact that they're always corrupting it and such.

It would be fun to badger Blizzard with satirical tweets asking for the Alliance to have the worgen race they were promised in Cataclysm.

Can't we just let people do their job?

It's obvious they never did their job with the worgen or for the Alliance quests, for that matter, in Cataclysm.

Snappy comeback, but not much of a counter-point.

I would do it, but I imagine I'm quite the no-name on Twitter compared to people they've actually cared to answer questions for more prominently.

And yeah, I really agree with Genesis.
