And it doesn't matter in the game. It's in their backstories. You can care. Or not.

Sometimes you need to wear something that allows a lot of mobility and that is just how the female body is shaped.

After hearing that one song again, the hype has returned and my wallet empties (a bit). I wonder where I'll put that statue.

Was having an overexposed webcam video of an unshaven Jeff really the best way to sell Japan on overwatch- a style of game (FPS) that no one in Japan actually likes?

Ya know... to an extent, I agree with Hammerbrew. Sexuality is seriously not all that of an important trait for characters in any multiplayer-only game. Especially one with no real story behind it beyond a bit of fluff about why the characters are involved, and where you can have people from opposite groups (Winston and, say, Reaper) on the same team. Further, I'm not sure that I'd want Blizzard to handle heterosexual relationships, let alone homosexual ones, considering how... ah... they struggle with subtlety as it is.

At the same time, I don't think there's a problem with having homosexual or transgendered characters, as long as you're not being mercilessly beat across the head and shoulders with the information. Sexuality is one of those things where it should supplement what you know about the character, not be the entire point of the character. I know this sounds weird considering the existence - nay, prevalence - of the womanizer type of character, but considering how well it went over with Ji Firepaw during MoP's beta, I cannot see that kind of personality surviving very long in a homosexual character, from either side of the debate. (Someone will either find it offensive, or it'll make people uncomfortable, a stink will be raised, and it will be changed.)

However... if they end up treating the comics, cartoons, or whatever they want to do as supplement material as being as canon as the aforementioned fanfics or fanart to the game (aka "not at fucking all"), then we go right back to "what gives a toss if Tracer/Hanzo/Winston/Bastion/Mercy prefers innies, outies, or both?", because it isn't important and people will ignore it to do their own shit anyway. (Mercy x Pharah OTP, their love is so aerial!)

Gods forbid, it won't stop fan artists or fanfic writers from making everyone and their mech gay anyway... well, at least among the pretty characters. I'd make a joke that nobody is going to make Tolbjorn gay, but someone here would probably do it out of spite.

Completely unrelated... who the hell has "huge tits" in Overwatch, outside of Road Hog? That seemed like an odd statement, and I would like some explanation. Possibly pictures. Not fanart, I have gelbooru for that shit.

No, and it seems really strange.

Like there was so little polish on that video I dunno why they bothered what was the point of that, if I were in Japan I'd think that was an indie developer or something if I weren't already familiar with Blizzard.

@Yakitori:

I think it's weird for people to pretend we won't eventually get an Overwatch champ, or champs, whose backstory is that they're in love with another champ or that their loved one died or something like that.

It's all just fluff and backstory for the setting, and if they're doing shorts and supplementing game design with the story (IE: although the gameplay has nothing to do with the plot, it might decide which order champs get released in, or which maps get made, or which cosmetic items and whatnot get added and things like that), then it might be pertinent, or at least as pertinent as any other tidbit of backstory.

So long as it's handled well I don't see the big deal at all.

From what Curll told me Blizz and Square have some sort of arrangement for localization into Japanese as one of the head localization guys at Blizz worked at Square before. So Square also translated Hearthstone for Blizz. Though I'm not sure if Square will translate WoW for Blizzard given they are in direct competition there.

So it seems they really want at least 40 bucks for this game. No F2P option at all.

Well, I'm out then. Not gonna pay for a pure team shooter. Never did, never will.
Gonna check out the animated shorts and the comics, though. The lore is very interesting.

Orb of Lightning

As if they're not going to switch to F2P as soon as the customer base is bled dry.

Just like WoW!

Hell at this point it wouldn't surprise me if they had a monthly sub, digital store and a 40 dollar price tag for it.

Honestly, I've got issues with preordering a digital copy of something thats a half a year away without a solid release date. I wonder how long they are keeping the Preorder rewards for this and Legion around for, I'll wait until the last possible second. I'd still prefer get the physical copy of things, but it's just not worth the hassle anymore. I still think they are charging an absurd amount for "digital collectors editions" when the collection aspect is removed by it being digital.
